The Love Ride 21 was a great success held under sunny skies. Southern California was experiencing a fall “Santa Ana” condition where the winds blow in from the desert warming the air temperatures and clearing the sky giving participants spectacular mountain to ocean views all over Southern California. This year Chairman Jay Leno and honorary Chairman Peter Fonda led a cadre of celebrity bikers and over 20,000 participants from Glendale Harley-Davidson to Castaic Lake. When the riders arrived at Castaic, participants enjoyed the catered BBQ lunch and refreshments and were entertained by Lynyrd Skynyrd who played live to the delight of the crowd.
This year actor Lorenzo Lamas rode a 2005 Vengeance Warrior supplied by Classic American Motorcycles the Vengeance dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA. Lorenzo rode 2-up with his fiancée and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. The bike was fitted with a 2-up seat, sissy bar and passenger pegs so the ride was comfortable and safe for both riders. Later in the day, Lorenzo spent time with Vengeance Director of Sales & Marketing Stephen Sharpe discussing the ride and making plans to visit the Vengeance factory in Mira Loma, CA.
The Love Ride is held annually in Southern California and raises funds for charity. The beneficiaries of these donations include Reading by 9, a group formed to encourage children to learn to read by the age of 9 and the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association), the official charity of Harley Davidson. Other beneficiaries include City of Hope and a host of other groups.
