Stephen and guys
My 04 Raider has a continuing front brake (FB) chudder (actually, chudder is putting it mildly) that has rendered the FBs nearly unusable. It has been an ongoing problem and in 05 the rotors were replaced (Brembo) under warranty-feels like warping, but not-apparently? Simply put, when I apply the FBs they grab and release-to the point where the front end hops up and down and continues to do so repeatedly during one continuous brake application-harder I brake, move violent the oscillation of the front end. Almost like there is an ABS controller shutting on and off. Ive had the brake fluid drained and checked-to no avail. Perhaps pistons? Another gift from DC Cruisers in MD-which has since gone out of business-three times-under two different owners-for good reason. The brakes pass inspection each year-nearly 11,000 miles on the bike-and yes I still love to ride it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have found a decent mechanic, but there arent many dual FB systems that he works on and I dont want to go through the “lets try this fix” until I run out of $$ and patience.
