Hopefully Steven or someone could help i am trying to figure out what transmission is in my 2004 black widow. The main gear and fifth gear went in the trans and there are no markings on the trans case or gears. Would anyone know what make and model transmission it is.The last four of my VIN is 6644.

I have a 04 widow. I replaced the trans, which is a roadmax, with a S&S 6 speed. I have the roadmax. It made noise in 3th, 4th, and 6th gears. Grizz

I think there is an older post about the trans. Roadmax moved to China. Don’t know if you can get parts. Mine works but it was making noise. Thanks for the tip on the housing. Got one from HD but it was the pre 96 and didn’t fit to good. Grizz

Sorry to hear that I thought they would be able to help. Unfortunately Roadmax is a problem. I have one in my 03 and it is rock-solid. Later in 04 we started having trouble with them and changed to the Rivera transmission.

If you are interested I can see if I can get you a wholesale price on a Trik Shift. They are the best bang for your buck in this current marketplace.

Finally got in touch with someone about the trans. Talked to a guy at active spring tech. He says he has all the parts I need for the roadmaxx. Only problem is he is telling me i cant order from him I have to order off the web site. The problem is on the site there is no place to order parts. Also he speaks broken english and is hard to understand.Just my luck.

You spoke with Louie. He’s a good guy and he has the parts. His web site is horrible and I’ve pitched him on doing a new web site for him but that’s another story.

We started using Rivera trans in 2005.
