Well guys I haven’t been here in a while. My little B***h has been working just great until today. So I’m losing power, electricity just like if you reach down and turn the key off engine wants to start acting up spitting and sputtering. I made it barely made it back home from about 5 Mi away from the house. As all this is going on I noticed that my display is off and all of my lights are off so it’s literally like you turn the switch off. Engine will almost completely die and then it catches back up and takes off did this about six times before I got back home. The lights and the speedometer RPM display never did light back up. But then I get it home it starts working again in about 10 minutes I get on it drive it about 3 Mi does the same thing again. It acts like something’s getting hot and turning the power off. Don’t see how it could be a wire because a wire brakes it stays broken.
Where do I start?
P.S, I turn the key switch on off on off wiggle it around after the first episode and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the key switch
loop-single-reply.phpJune 27, 2025 at 9:57 am #13593Sounds like a ground short. This happens if the outside edge of a wire rubs and wears away then touches metal. I had one in my handlebars that would randomly touch and turn off the bike. I’d start at the handlebars, those wires move around a lot. This is not an easy ghost to find.
loop-single-reply.phpJune 27, 2025 at 4:22 pm #13594ok, but if you switch off the switch on the handlebar that only kills the engine. Correct? but would not off the lights and Speedo and RPM screen on the Handlebar?
The engine try’s to keep running and will finally catch and run but for short time, the lights and speedo never come back until set a few minutes

loop-single-reply.phpJune 28, 2025 at 4:15 am #13596Ground shorts can do odd things. Most of the handlebar harness goes into the back of the headlight and then goes under the tank from there. My guess is something is feeding power back into the harness. I’m not an electrical expert unfortunately, I cant give you the how to on chasing it down.
