I own an 05 Banshee with a 113″ S&S 1853cc with 1,400 original miles. Right side drive. Previous owner modified the exhaust pipes for reasons unknown. I want to install new pipes, possibly 2 into 1 or longer pipes to the rear tire. Possibly with baffles, the pipes currently installed back fire when down shifting. I replaced the exhaust gaskets at the manifold an rejetted the carb. I am looking for a more throaty sound, can you recommend some pipes, and give me the years an models of H.D. that work with my bike. Any help would much be appreciated, Thanks

loop-single-reply.phpFebruary 26, 2018 at 4:08 am #3710Hawkeye is correct there are no RSD Banshee’s. Theres often some confusion about which is the right and left side. Sitting on the bike if your final drive belt is on the left it’s LSD. But with that out of the way, lets talk about pipes.
A longer pipe with a little back pressure makes better power and burns fuel more efficiently. My Banshee has the shortest pipe made by Sampson, they crackle every time I let off the throttle and my buddies refuse to ride on my right because I “napalm” them with un-burnt fuel. My recommendation is to use a longer pipe.
The best pipe I had on my Vendetta was a Bassaini pipe. It makes power and can be use with or without a baffle.

I currently have Sampson ripsaws on my Vendetta. They are mid-length and un-baffled and I had a set in storage when my Bassinis broke. Longer Pipes weight more and the extra length puts pressure at the rear mounting point.
loop-single-reply.phpFebruary 26, 2018 at 11:40 am #3712Thank you for your replies an the schooling, lol. Can you tell me what years an model of H.D. that the pipes will fit my Left side drive Banshee. Thanks
loop-single-reply.phpFebruary 27, 2018 at 1:33 am #3713You’ll want pipes for 1984โ1999 Softails with Evolution engines.
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 4, 2018 at 2:57 pm #3719Something you might check out is the samsonusa.com web site. I highly recommend you look at some of the B-Stock stuff they have 4 sale. Here’s a link

These are similar to the pipes on my 03 Raider but I have the Samson Big Guns longer pipes. But some of their B-stock can start off at only $149.00 on a set of $749.00 pipes. I LOVE the sound of mine. I don’t know if it is because they are longer or what but when I roll into any MC place it always seems like my pipes are louder and lower in tone than everyone elses. OK, I’m bragging just a little ๐ but check them out in the catalog section.
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 5, 2018 at 6:10 am #3721Thanks for the Info. I checked them out ,yes, Great prices. I want to go to longer pipes , that run long along the frame. I’m looking to get rid of the crackle an get a more deep throaty sound.
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 5, 2018 at 6:12 am #3722March 6, 2018 at 9:58 am #3723The pipes on my Raider are the Longer Big Guns. I don’t know if they came with the bike but I’ve seen other Vengeance bikes with the same pipes so I’m assuming they did. You can see them in the Owners Gallery images almost all the way at the bottom since they are probably the newest images posted plus they show off my LED lights ๐ Ride On ๐
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 7, 2018 at 3:04 am #3724The Big Guns were the “stock” pipe on the Vindicator and will fit on any LSD Vengeance, they are great sounding pipes! –S.
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 8, 2018 at 6:26 pm #3726Your LED’s are SICK, totally awesome. I’m ordering my new sampsons tomorrow. ill post some pic’s soon. I love my Banshee, I’ll end up leaving it to my son, after I’m DEAD of course…lol Thanks for all the help…
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 18, 2018 at 7:41 pm #3728You’ll really like the sound of the Big Guns and how they give a deep power sound that is distinct to the Vengeance motor. I love firing up my machine when I’m a some place with all the HD’s around and everyone turns their head to look with that WTF is that look ๐ lol
