    Hi,
At low speed/RPM this engine is really acting like it has a vacuum leak.
So I started looking around…I see this little black hose coming from the top of the intake to a electrical gizmo spot tied up by the coil area. Does anyone know what this is. Would it be bad if I just capped the intake instead of attaching the little hose? I originally took off the Engine mount so I could get at the intake bolts to remove the intake, clean it up and reseal it with new gaskets and O rings when i noticed the upper engine mount rear ear where it attaches to the rear cylinder is broken and fell off when I removed all the hex bolts, I was careful to loosen them up evenly but it made no difference because it was already broken. Glad I found it now. I am thinking if that hose and vacuum switch is the source of my leak then I do not have to pull the carb and intake.

I found my answer, yes it is important, I guess it is called a Voes and it adjust vacuum advance or retard as needed according to vacuum being pulled by the engine.
