I have changed my handle bars…I now have been working on it for a week to get the wiring back. I had someone cut the electrical harnesses also that makes it much more confusing to a not so savvy electrical guy. I bought a new high performance n4 coil. changed the settings on ignition module to 4 verses 3 making it a dual fire. It fired right up like it should! went to put the splash guard back on and cleaned up the wires.
Went to start it and front headlight and rear lights go out. I go to start it and then I hear a click and then it resets… goes out and keeps resetting. my key was needed like normal with starter button also as it was functional when i finished but now I can turn starter without the key in it but no lights and no fire??? please throw a life line………
The click is you are tripping a breaker. Most likely from a ground short. Look for things like pinched wires in the handlebar controls or in the key switch box. Never fun. Never easy to find.
Thank you for the reply, I checked the key box and someone before I owned it moved the fuse box. it now is behind the splash guard where I replaced the 5 fuses that were in there. Not really sure what they were to but only one that I could tell was blown and that was a 5 amp fuse.Still it was no help. Where will I find the 30 amp breaker? the current situation is my starter fires directly without the key and I have no lights. It will not fire either. Thanks for any other info…
