went to replace fork seals that are leaking, but whoever assembled the forks used red thread locker on the dust boot covers and they cannot be removed now wothout destroying them…… i called pro-one to order a new set before ruining the ones on there now and they are on national back order for 60 to 90 days … wtf, any suggestions or know of any other covers that will work with the threaded lowers ?
loop-single-reply.phpMay 30, 2011 at 5:18 pm #2584I think there are some from Drag Specialties that’ll work. I’ll check with Jim (Head Janitor / parts guru).

loop-single-reply.phpJune 9, 2011 at 1:42 am #2593the ones on e-bay have the set screw they arent the threaded ones that you used on your bikes, i called pro-one and they wont work and ds-174781 is a seal kit, thats not what i need i need the pro one dust boot covers because whoever assembled the front end used red thread locker on them and now they cant be removed without destroying them
loop-single-reply.phpJune 10, 2011 at 6:37 pm #2597Ah sorry… I was thinking you were looking for the seals. so back to the original problem. I assume you’ve tried a Boa wrench. Also Pro-One has some other styles that fit. Are they out of all of them?
Attachments:loop-single-reply.phpJune 11, 2011 at 11:00 am #2600June 12, 2011 at 1:41 am #2601I have a set of pro-one lower legs in storage and will sell you the caps… if you will send the damaged caps back to me so I can send them out to be striped, polished and re-chromed.
loop-single-reply.phpJune 13, 2011 at 10:06 pm #2602Jim (head Janitor) says heat up the caps before using the soft wrench. The heat will re-liquify the red loc-tite and you will be able to remove the caps.
