While at the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach I met the director of RIVERA PRIMO and he said he was given all the Road Max transmissions and parts when they went out of business.
If you need help or parts for your Road Max transmission contact Ben Kudon at ben@riveraprimoinc.com with Road max parts in the subject line.
Really. Roadmax was owned by Jimmy Lee. He sold Roadmax to Active Spring Tech not Primo back around 2010. Ben may have been having the Rivera Primo trannys made by Roadmax back then and he has what’s left of his inventory but he didn’t end up with Roadmax.
He told me he wound up with large boxes of all the roadmax transmissions and parts. His point was that if I have any trouble to look him up cause he has the parts, i told him fortunately my trans is still working good at 14K miles so far. You know more about this than I ever will. I was just passing along what I was told by Ben.
There were six companies overseas making transmissions back then. The last transmissions were produced in 2008. The only transmissions available now or whatever is left of those transmissions. Roadmax was acquired by active spring tech back in 2010. Those parts are available for a lot less money than what Ben is going to charge you. Louie at active spring tech also has the upgraded gears that don’t break like the ones in those transmissions. I think it was 2nd and 5th gear that was prone to breaking because they were made incorrectly. It was a flaw that was in the Baker transmissions that everybody copied back then.
That is even better news, i will keep Active spring tech on file in case I need them. My trans has a lot of backlash in the lower gears. I put shockproof lube in it and it made silent compared to what it was. I expect i will need to do something in the future.
Thanks for the info
