The DMV in CA told me i need a physical inspection on my buke for a VIN# verification. . I went to AAA to register a bike amd get the vin# verified. He also verified the motor # as well. Then, he asked me for the US federal highway label, and a emissions label. I dont know where to locate these labels, or obtain a test/inspection to obtain the labels, which I assume are not on the bike.
Has anyone dealt with this? Can anyone please provide information on how i can get the bike registered? I didnt realize bikes even had emissions regulations
Yes, all Vengeance motorcycles had Emissions stickers and the CA bikes also had a California label with a charcoal canister to make them meet CARB specifications in CA. Unfortunately, many owners remove the labels and canisters because they are ugly. This only becomes an issue when its time to transfer registration, especially in CA where the rules are quite stringent. It should cost you about $250 to get it back up to spec. Email me and I’ll give you a couple of names of shops that can re-fit your bike with the necessary equipment to meet the CA regulations.
