if you ride like i do the best thing to do is check everything, adjust primary drive if needed or applicable , change oil, filter, tranny,&primary fluids if you have wet primary, change plugs if needed basically do all your check list for your other regular services ,i do all these things every 2000 miles . this is if you want to know what is goin on with your bike and want it to last.however if you take it to a shop theyll change fluids & check it over somewhat for a price$$$$
Does anyone have the maintenance check list for 2004 black widow
The owners manual( page 68 is blank) does not give the 1500 and 2000 mile check
lists but all others, any help will be greatly appricatedRide Safe
Squidloop-single-reply.phpJune 12, 2009 at 6:03 pm #1821The second maintenance interval is 2500 mi. But you can do that at 2000. One of the challenges is alot of these bikes get very few miles on them so you should do the 2500 mi service annually if its low mi.
• Engine Oil & Filter: Change at 50, 500, 2,500, and every 2,500 miles thereafter.
• Air Cleaner: Inspect at 50 and 500, 2500, and every 2,500 miles thereafter. Replace every 5,000 miles. o Replace more frequently if required or if engine is operated in a dusty environment.
• Tappet Oil Screen: Inspect/Clean at 50, 500, 2,500, and every 2,500 miles thereafter.
• Petcock, Lines, & Vacuum Line Fittings: Inspect at 50, 500, 2,500, and every 2,500 miles thereafter.
• Fuel Tank Filter Screen & In-Line Fuel Filter (if used): Every 5,000 miles.
• Engine Idle Speed: Adjust as required.
• Operation of Throttle & Enrichment Device Controls: Inspect and lubricate throttle cables at 500 miles and
every 2,500 miles thereafter.
• Spark Plugs: Inspect every 5,000 miles. Replace every 12,000 miles or as needed.
• Ignition Timing: Inspect every 5,000 miles.
• Engine Mounts: Inspect at 500 miles and every 5,000 miles thereafter.
• External Fasteners (Except engine head bolts): Re-torque at 500 miles and every 5,000 miles thereafter.loop-single-reply.php -
