If your battery is three years old replace it. Make sure you use a trickle charger at all times. Also if you have and S&S 113ci have a shop verify your electronic compression releases are both working properly.
There is a legitimate reason they invented the 3″ open primary and chain drive. If you “get on it” the belts are the weak link. Problem is if they dont break something in your transmission will. If you ride normally the belts shouldnt break, unless there is an alignment issue.
Thank you for the response. We use the trickle charger all the time as suggested, but three years is not to to long for a battery. It is an S&S 113ci and isnt it possible to release the compression by hand ?
The compression releases are electronic (they are in those holes in your rocker box covers). I am not aware of any manual release mechanism.
Hi
Some times my banshee with the same motor is had to start when its cold.Try pushing down on the decompression release in the center of the heads.Sometimes you only have to push down on the rear one. Also,if it is stone cold make sure you give it three good pumps of the throttle.Avoid using the choke if possible. It only loads the bike up and fouls the plugs. You may have to pumpit twice more if it doesnt start immediately.Anyhow, perhaps you have a decompression release not working.Try the manual push see what happens.
