(1) If you had a nut come off… check the spacer. Im not kidding.
(2) If you are convinced its the inner primary, you can get a new inner primary for around $250. The thing is these are all cast and usually do not vary (but I guess it could happen.)

(3) As Primo indicated the belts do vary, but if youve tried three… When trouble shooting demons its best to go one component at a time.
Stephen,
I have an 04 Vindicator 6 speed and Ive had the crank shaft nut come off twice now. When you say check the offset spacer thats the splined gear that goes over the crack shaft, the one that is bolted to the 45 tooth front sprocket right?
This spacer dimension of 1.4375″ where do measure this from?
Now I need a new spacer and nut Im sure they dont make a spacer that is 1.4375″, when I have this machined down does it have to be 1.4375 is there a plus or minus there? How did we get such an odd dimension? Is there anything else I should look at before this goes together again?
The spacer is billet and it is between the motor and your inner primary.
Its hard to measure on the bike because you need to put a dial caliper on the spacer to check the dimension.
The 1.4375 is 1-7/16 that is one 1/16 less than 1-1/2. Weve had them taken down to 1.4 and work. The scientists on the group will tell you about rotational force and if the pressure is on the outside it could cause the nut to come loose.
Over the years Ive become convinced we got batch of wide spacers. It seems the issues are in late 04 early 05 bikes.
