The guy I bought it from put a chrome 1.4 starter in it for some reason. Nothing wrong with it right now. Always fires right up. I bought a push button cover for it so I can bypass the electrical start for now. (Im going to go pick up the 1.8 he still has for the future)
No luck on the electrical yet. 4 guys from Harley & Big Dog (50 yrs experience) cant figure it out. They say there is a bunch of extra wires down there that they cant figure out why they are there. They think that is where the problem is. Ill keep you updated.
While I have you. Where can I get a replacement gas tank mount bracket? The one I have is holding, but cracked. Daytec? Do you have a part #? Thanks.
After testing everything twice the only thing they can think of is there is a broken or cracked wire somewhere inside its casing.
Whoever wired this bike used all the same color wiring and it is all balled up in electrical tape in two places which makes it practically impossible to trace up and down the frame.
They are asking if there is a way to just purchase a whole new rear main harness for this bike? It would save them a lot of time and me money.
Thanks.
All one color? Interesting… We used the same vendor from day one. It sounds like its been “worked” on. Yes, Ill email you with details.
I know the guy I bought it from had to of done the wiring since he put on a different fender with the in-laid tail light and also new bars with the Arlen Ness controls.
A part # for the lower gas tank mount would be much appreciated too if you have it.
Thanks Stephen
