2005 Bone Crusher
Just had new wheel bearings installed. Trying to reinstall the wheel but running into trouble. There are three spacers and on the left side the brake caliper mounting bracket. I have forgotten how the spacers are arranged on the axle. I realize this shouldn’t be so complicated but I can’t seem to make it work. I figured I would put it to the forum. Does anyone know the order or the spacers for the axel and in relation to the caliper mounting bracket?
Thanks
I hate to say this but I’m not sure… and I’m not even sure one of the other VB owners will be able to give you an answer. But here’s how to proceed.
Start with sorting out which spacer with put the disc in the center of the caliper. (Did the caliper have washers? If yes they need to go back in place first.) Once you know the caliper/disc are aligned remove the caliper and then put what you’ve got left on the other side. Don’t forget its likely not a slip fit. You might have slid the rim out but now you may need to use a pry bar to spread the rear of the frame as the frame can relax with no rim in place.
