I have a 2003 Raider. Can anyone tell me the best gap for the spark plugs?
Also my gas cap leaks like hell. You cannot fill it up or fuel pours from it all down the tank and onto the motor and exhaust.
Any help you guys can give is appreciated.
.038-.042 for the plug gap. Depending on which cap you have it sounds like your seal is missing or the wrong one is installed. Also, you can’t “top off” these chopper tanks. Gas will leak from the cap and the vent tube.
Jim is correct, the caps are vented so if you top off the tank gas will come out. If it pours out check your gasket.
1) Is it there?
2) Is the cap sealing? To check get a second O-ring and double it up with the gasket. The top of your cap should now sit above the tank the height of the o-ring. If not you may need to use a taller gasket.
