Had to replace rear drive belt…..broke with less than 6000 miles??? Had to remove softail primary side pivot bolt to remove spacer and install the new belt.
Anyone have the torque specs for softail pivot bolts for 2005 Banshee….?

When I took the Banshee apart there was a great deal of red on the fine threads…….I will start with your recommendation of 65 ‘lbs and go with the anti seize…..will be easy to monitor any bolt movement.
Thank you again!!!!
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 14, 2013 at 3:34 am #2902110 ft lbs is right. I was looking at the wrong line on my chart. Make sure you use the anti-sieze and not the Loc-Tite or you’ll need to chase the threads in the pivot tube which is a pain.
loop-single-reply.phpMarch 14, 2013 at 4:38 am #2903Thanks again Headjanitor…………big difference 65 compared to 110.
Actually considering the size of the bolt…..15/16 the 110 ft lbs makes a lot more sense…..When I originally removed the pivot bolt it took a 25″ breaker bar with a 1′ extension to crack it loose……sometimes RED really sucks!
Since I believe that RED Loc Tite was originally used for assembly, I will chase the threads of the bolt and pivot tube before reassembly…..I am going to also remove the other side bolt and evenly set the torque.
I WILL USE YOUR REVISED NUMBER, 110 FT LBS….WITH ANTISEIZE, NOT LOC TITE!
