hey i bought my raider new in 05, got about 13000 miles on it, had little things here and their as can be expected with a custom, and 2 major issues. 1 with the compensator nut coming off the crank inside the primary, first time was about 4 months after i bought it. inside of primary was totally trashed, thank god for the warranty $$$. 2) the aluminum ring covering the crank assembly shredded and ate the clutch hub and seized the clutch, new clutch pack from rivera is 137 bucks not to bad at all and can be a self fix if your knowledgeable. but instead i put a rivera 3 inch open drive on it. “I dont regret buying my bike at all” i have met other raider owners that have had one problem after another with theirs but knock on wood i have’nt. feel free to ask questions. P.S read all my posts and pics back and forth with stephen about my gas cap 🙂

had the same thing happen to the electrical system in my raider 2 years ago, the fuse breakers behind my ignition cover where the key goes, not the points cover would get hot and cause them to tripp, i re-wrapped each of them individuallty with electrical tape and haven’t had a problem since 🙂 cant hurt to try it, when they did trip the breakers after about 5 minutes when they cooled down bingo electrical was back to normal

got the cap today, :woohoo: threads perfect, diameter perfect, get 4 full turns out of it 🙂 but when all the way threaded in the top still sits about 1/4 of an inch above flush, i will send a couple pics, but i dont see why my local machine shop cant mill 1/4 inch off the top B)

when you send me the new gas cap, can you return the original base i sent you, i have a feeling that will be needed again in the future and i dont want it to get lost unless you need it for measurements or thread pitch etc etc thanks 🙂

that makes 2 of us  you should have the cap back tuesday, the last cap i sent back was the right diameter at the top and it was a litter larger than the one i received yesterday

got the cap today, as soon as I opened it I knew it was WRONG  the threads are wrong and the whole cap itself is smaller than the original and even the one you sent me 2 weeks ago in width and height. so even if it did thread in their would be a decent sized gap around the top of the cap and the tank, “un-acceptable,” the cap I just returned to you was the right height and diameter just the wrong threads. I dont even get an 1/8th of a turn out of this one before it stops……. needless to say this cap is getting returned today and my riding season is over till april, and if you run into trent feel free to give him a kick in the ass for causing these problems amongst YOU and YOUR CUSTOMERS by using a variation of gas caps that cant be matched or easily replaced, I have seen other posts in the forum about faulty caps popping out while riding and having to be drilled out so I know i’m not alone here. and its not my tank because the original threaded piece i sent back this last time with the other wrong cap fit perfect. as i’m sure you can tell by my message my mood about this whols thing is rapidly deteoriating…… so now what ?
