Hello John, I am also a Raider owner /in the middle of a electrical nightmare . I changed my handlebars 3 weeks ago and haven’t had my bike up since, Some was self-inflicted as A friend helped but cut the wiring harnesses completely out. Needless to say it looked like spaghetti to me being a inexperienced electrical rider. I had another person come by and had it up and running. I think he did make a bypass though. After he left, I went to tighten up everything. That is where I made a mistake by pushing up the splash guard and I think shorting something out.Since my latest short , I can use my starter button without a key and have no lights and I hear a reset click until I had to disconnect the battery. I have read all your postings and you seem to have this under control after experiencing your own electrical problems.
Any help you can offer will be more than greatly appreciated as you can imagine! Thank you, Mark Wood Richmond, Va 804 307-8720 or email

Thank you for the reply, I checked the key box and someone before I owned it moved the fuse box. it now is behind the splash guard where I replaced the 5 fuses that were in there. Not really sure what they were to but only one that I could tell was blown and that was a 5 amp fuse.Still it was no help. Where will I find the 30 amp breaker? the current situation is my starter fires directly without the key and I have no lights. It will not fire either. Thanks for any other info…

Yes , here is one of the links from California. The second link is another from Worcester Mass. that is 1/4 shorter that fits flush to my tank. I hope it helps you all like it did me.

Thanks for your help. Also just an fyi, I was able to find 2 sellers on ebay that sold my cap for 29.95 from California and another one from Boston for 39.95. They both fit and at a great price. not a bad idea for a back up.
