Let me answer my own question: Yes this is the pad that will work.
If you want the hi performance pad get this one…

Incredible how easy they are to replace, pop out center pin with a punch (remove clip first if it has one)then the plate falls out that rest on top of shoes, then the shoes fall out. Slide the new ones in and re-assemble it’s a 5 min job.

Update: Well it turned out to be good news, I foolishly did not even consider the low mileage (7000 when i bought the bike) I thought it was a good thing…It would have been if parts had been replaced.
It turns out both tires are internally shot from sitting so long. I guess I was lucky to get 3000 more miles out of them. The bearings installed are to cone shaped repackable type and the bearings and races are in perfect condition as well as the axles. The mechanic said changing and balancing both tires has made the bike a lot more fun to ride due to less vibration. I had him put in Dyna Beads for balance, I have been using them on every bike I have owned in the last few years and they worked good.
    Ride carefully!

I was all wrong on this one. The rear brake lights were stuck on. When I pressed the rear brake nothing changed. When I used the front brake the lights on the rear would blink twice. I finally got around to messing with it and found if I pulled the front brake lever just a little all the brake lights would go off and the rear brake switch worked correctly. I took the front brake lever apart and tested the switch and found everything worked perfect. I found the chrome plating on the inside of the brake lever where it contacts the switch had delaminated and was causing the switch to act goofy. I replaced the brake lever for a 10 spot and the lights, brake lights work as advertised. Thanks for all the info others had posted with a similar problem…that led me to right troubleshooting and a fix.
    GO VENGEANCE :woohoo:

Wow, it must suck to have no mechanical aptitude, perseverance or desire to rescue or keep a dream machine going maybe even improving on it with new tech here or there. I cannot imagine some folks view of life. ๐Ÿ™
But I’m glad he is still riding and has not given up on that yet B)

I have only noticed a very slight film on both forks when they are depressed and come back up when i am shining them. i have not actually seen any oil seeping. The longest this thing sits is overnight or a day while I am waiting on parts. I do have an issue with the fork stops, in the past it has been allowed to flop so hard to the left that it has put a small crease in the tank where the upper tree hits it so I always leave the wheel turned to the right. Down the road when i get rich enough I plan on having the bung changed in the tank to a standard size gas cap, have a custom painter fix the paint and put a Sugar bear front end on the bike so I can steer it easier. Right now it’s like wrestling a bear at low speed turning right. lol
    Thanks for the input!
If the tire and bearing change does not fix the wobble he said we should put in fork seal kit and service the forks. So I am hoping that does not have to be done yet cause the quote was $400 more.

    Thanks
After close examination of the front tire, it is definitely in need of replacing. So I’m replacing the front tire, throwing an ounce of Dyna Beads in it and checking the bearings. it looks like that might cure it.
I have a shop over here called Whole Hog who is doing the tire change and bearing check for me. I’ll let you know what happens when I get my baby back.

I am thinking the same thing about the temp and out here running to places like Brawley, Amboy, Ramona, Las Vegas and the like it is getting hot enough already. one thing for sure this is a completely different machine to ride once I got the vacuum leak plugged, I don’t believe i could stay on it if I opened the throttle all the way, it pulls so hard its hard to keep my feet on the pegs at a little more than half throttle.
So when I get the new VOES in the mail I will install it.
Thanks for this web site. You have been an invaluable resource in my effort to get my Raider up to spec’s and running right. I see now why Vengeance owners love their machines. I feel fortunate to be an owner.
How can I help support your web site?

I found my answer, yes it is important, I guess it is called a Voes and it adjust vacuum advance or retard as needed according to vacuum being pulled by the engine.

I found a nice chrome headlight online and it works perfect plus it is easy to replace the bulb if needed.
Shines great, vibration has not broke it yet and the price was right…

    Thanks,
I’m pretty sure I overtightened the jackshaft bolt to get the flats lined up with the lock tang. I’ll get a new lock tang washer and reinstall the jackshaft bolt, not quite so tight.
The rest of the things are in order.

Thanks, I am not a Biker either. i use to fancy myself a motorcyclist sometimes but since I bought this low mileage Raider, which I really like, I have become a 90% mechanic and 10% rider.
Mind over metal, we are in the instruction phase right now…

Thanks, the local custom shop had one and picked it up.
Works good…I hope it lasts a while.
If a kickstart was put on this bike would it be possible to turn over the motor fast enough to start it?
