I blew the clutch in the starter, when I pulled the primary I saw the gear was coming out and engaging but not spinning even though I could hear the starter spinning just fine.
i replaced the starter with a New one and it works great now! I also had the battery checked and it is working ok. So I learned a little and it was not too expensive.

Well I finally got the bike back from the shop and the brake system has been completely gone through and repaired…Yea it works good ๐Ÿ˜†
I ride around for a little bit to just to get a feel of the bikes handling, I need to practice my right hand turns but my left hand turns are fine I can drag the stand without difficulty B)
Well I get home, I adjust the clutch cable length cause the turnbuckle was loose spinning…not to tight though, and left plenty of free play at the handle.

Then I went to start it… a bad sound happens  then all I get is the starter spinning and the solenoid never engaging :pinch:
So Saturday I’ll open up the primary and see if I can determine what is wrong.
I really hope this is a good bike that will hold together for a ride to Vegas from Riverside when I get straightened out what the PO never maintained…

But I only think it’ll work short term because the gas will probably deteriorate the rubber  , (depending on type) so I would not leave it in too long…just to get home.

Thanks for the Info, I contacted the place I bought it from and the lead wrench said they will take care of it if i can get the bike to them since it is a safety issue and less than 30 days since purchase.
i hope they just change the whole assy out for a new one. But at least I have the tools and know what to do if it ever happens out on the road in the desert 40 miles from the nearest town!

Sage advice for sure, last time I rode a chopper was back in 79 I had a 67 Triumph with some front end work and a king/queen seat with a great set of pullbacks. i use to roll from Ogden to Bear lake Id up through Brigham canyon.
