Well there’s about 998 of us in the ‘family’ some like you have moved on but your love/hate relationship with your vengeance brings you back to the forum… you are welcome to focus on the failure of your bike or the dealer. But those of us on the forum are here to do what we can to help the owners of the bikes. Ive found if you focus on the things and people you hate you will die bitter. Ride safe.
loop-single-reply.phpYea… that jerk. Brought all of us nothing but misery. When the movie comes out we should get you to play the angry customer. But since you owned one you are a member of the family right? You must have bought yours from the Indian dealer in Ohio. Ah good times!
loop-single-reply.phpWhile its there have them check the fork oil. Choppers can tend to lean on the fork seals. This can cause them to fail/weep. Also when you store the bike its better to not leave the tire laying on its left side for long periods of time. Turn the handlebars to the right side to keep the tire off the sidewall.
loop-single-reply.phpFirst, check the fork oil that front tire is way out there. Then get the front tire off the ground and see if there is any bearing play. They are sealed… but its a possible culprit. The front axle uses pinch bolts, so you’ll need to remove those before pulling the wheel.
loop-single-reply.phpRide that bike! Post pictures and help others when they have questions. Thats the best support, we are all in this together.
loop-single-reply.phpI’ll wait for Jim (Head Janitor) to chime in but I think with full time advance you’ll find you start running real hot and you might find the bike gets harder to start. It sound like the motor was running retarded and you were getting no advance.
loop-single-reply.phpI get 30, my Vendetta has the 4.6 tank and I can do 120 miles comfortably. My Banshee has the wide chopper tank but it only has 3-3.5 usable gallons… so I do 90 miles and refill.
loop-single-reply.phpYes its a Spyke starter. I’ll get Jim (head janitor) to login he can help you.
loop-single-reply.phpSounds like the Jack shaft is sticking. Sometimes charging the battery will throw enough juice to get it to pop out. If not you’ll need to pull the primary cover. Its dry so its not messy.
These issues a likely from the time the bike sat in the PO garage. You need to start/ride these bikes. I keep both of mine on trickle chargers whenever they sit because the high-compression motors love to eat batteries.
loop-single-reply.phpWelcome! There’s some great riding out in Hemet. Get some time behind the bars before you take the 74 into Palm Desert. Its a wild ride on a chopper!
loop-single-reply.phpIt has 5 degree triple tree w/ 6″ over forks. Unfortunately both chrome shops we used are closed. I’d suggest calling Pro-One tell them you have a Pro-one front end you would like to restore and ask who they use.
loop-single-reply.phpI hate to say this but I’m not sure… and I’m not even sure one of the other VB owners will be able to give you an answer. But here’s how to proceed.
Start with sorting out which spacer with put the disc in the center of the caliper. (Did the caliper have washers? If yes they need to go back in place first.) Once you know the caliper/disc are aligned remove the caliper and then put what you’ve got left on the other side. Don’t forget its likely not a slip fit. You might have slid the rim out but now you may need to use a pry bar to spread the rear of the frame as the frame can relax with no rim in place.
