Ultima makes decent products but I’ve never bought/used one of their front ends. The American Suspension inverted front ends are beautiful and are worth every penny. The front end is ‘how’ your bike rides and handles. For my money I’d go with the American Suspension. 5 degree Tree with 12″ over tubes for the Vengeance Chopper. You may need to move the tank back. –S.

    What a jerk-wad!
I have owned my Vengeance Warrior for 4+ years now, and never had a single issue with it! Regular oil changes, and 1 battery are the only things I have done to it (other than tightening a few bolts that rattle loose every so often).
Go ride your Hardly, and look like every other Joe-Shmoe on the street. And after I blow by you, you can catch up a few miles later when I park and talk some crap about the bike you USED to own and I’ll be laughing in your face!!!

Engines, Transmissions, no thought or talent?

I’ve always said that owning these bikes is like dating a supermodel. She’s super hot, a total pain in the ass and when you dump her you will spend the rest of your life talking about your old super model girlfriend. Well guess what? You proved my point.

With all of your love of Harleys, there 10 million of them out there and they all look alike. They are plain Janes. Also there are thousands of web sites about Harleys and still after all these years you are looking up Vengeance. Taking the time to register on the forum and posting your story. Do you know why? Because it was the sexiest bike you will ever own and you will never forget the day you fell in love with it on the show room floor. If you knew how to take care of it, you might have had a better ending to your story.

We are glad you went back to riding Harleys. Thank you for contributing.

welcome! These batteries need to be replaced every couple of years and while not being ridden its best to keep it on a trickle charger. Also the charging system only charges the battery when you are above 2000 RPM so if you are just cruising around the neighborhood riding it will not charge the battery. The first thing I would do is have the battery tested and fully charged and while you are at the dealer get a trickle charger.

Most likely this is a breaker tripping (from heat). I don’t have anyone I could recommend in AZ. Maybe someone else on the forum knows somebody.

Ride it a while and enjoy it. Its like when your super-model girl friend gets out of rehab, you were sick of her when she went in but now you remember what made you fall in love in the first place. When you get rid of her you’ll remember her fondly and will show people her picture the rest of your life.

This may not be much help, but a mechanic told me after I had solved my problem that on a normal motorcycle if your starter switch or relay goes bad you can unplug the hot wire from the Horn and plug it into the solenoid and use the horn switch as starter switch BUT that does NOT work on our machines because these engines will not turn over without the Compression releases opening. So I say all that to say all this,,, you may only get a buzz because the compression releases are not being energized to open and the starter cannot turn the engine. I do know for fact that when mine was giving me hell and I would push it off even in 5th or 6th gear would just drag the back tire if I did not hit the starter button at same time as popping the clutch to open compression releases. Stephen or one of the other guys will have to tell you how to short power to both at the same time. Also the Wiring Diagram posted on the site and exact for my 05 Banshee

Welcome… Nice Warrior! The pipes on your bike are Sampson Short Cuts. There are lots of pipes that’ll fit your bike just get 89-92 Softtail and you’ll be all set.

Patience Grasshopper electrical problems are hard to find and easy to fix. My first problem I am riding down the road and all goes dark Speedo, lights, all when I pull over engine goes dead. Then it was like no battery. Problem; about 3 inches from the + battery post was a solder connection in the hot wire going to key switch burned into on battery side of a solder joint like it had been cut with a lazar. Finally had to replace that wire from battery to switch. You need to pull everything out of the box turn key to on wiggle wires see if any result. If not then bring a 12ga wire from + side of the battery and by pass the switch see if you can get everything to power up. Trick: you don’t have to cut any wires just get a needle from your wife’s sewing kit or from a new shirt take needle nose pliers and push it through the insulation of the wire you want to energize and then touch your hot wire from the battery to the needle. Its difficult to trouble shoot over this forum but you just by pass stuff until you get life then back track from there. BE CAREFUL you can get seriously bit but you can take the test hot wire all the way to the starter solenoid and check the starter Good Luck

I should have mention in my post that I had to pull out and repack my box 3 times and replace one connector before everything started working correct. Frist time my left turn signal would not stop. Everything has to be just right some heat shrink and electrical tape on anything naked. These are great machines but the electrical wiring guy was not tip-top aluminum wire, copper wire, soldered connections you put solder connection in DC current and you have made a resistor (current passing from wire through solder and back to wire makes heat). Mine has burned through 3 and I hope there are no more. I hope your relay is the answer also don’t mean to be a smart ass but the relay has to be same diagram stamp as one removed it not only controls the starter but also the compression releases. I got mine at NAPA

we used 30 amp breakers. But Jim recommends going with a 40 amp. so your starter gets the full juice from the battery.
