The Inner primary spacer should be 1.40 so it sounds like yours is correct. Our dealer in Corona swore that they needed to grind the black finish off the charging system stator (so the nut, spacer and stator are all bare metal to metal and then red Loctite and torque the nut to 185. Run it a 100 miles and then re-torque it again. If your so inclined get a new spacer and inner primary from Drag Specialties. There was a run of bikes in 04 that this problem. Its one of those two parts (both bought from Drag Specialties).
loop-single-reply.phpIts technically not a “chopper” because the frame has not been modified.
loop-single-reply.phpThose were Sampson Uppercuts. The shorter versions used on Vertebreakers are shortcuts. The uppercuts are notorious for breaking at the pipe mount because of the length of the pipe.
loop-single-reply.phpYes. Spring is around the corner. I’ve got some buddies riding down to Daytona. I’m getting the itch to go on a road trip!
loop-single-reply.phpAny word yet my man? Don’t see too many new posts lately. Guess most of us are depressed by the winter weather. Or jealous of you California kids! ๐
loop-single-reply.phpTire Inflation Pressure
Vengeance Motorcycles original equipment tires should be maintained at the following pressures (measured when the
tire is cold, not immediately following road use):
Solo Front: 32 p.s.i. Rear: 35 p.s.i.
Solo plus one passenger* Front: 32 p.s.i. Rear: 40 p.s.i.loop-single-reply.phpI have a 10mm in my tol bag for just that reason. it’s an 05 and has the original battery so got all the good out if it
Thank you, Stephenloop-single-reply.phpSorry those are thread inserts. If the main head studs (steel) have pulled out of the motor case (aluminum) They drill a slightly larger hole in the case and screw in steel inserts and then thread the main studs into the inserts. Some claim this is actually stronger.
loop-single-reply.phpWe used the Drag Specialties and Interstate batteries. Life is usually 3 years. Always use the trickle charger and keep your terminal posts tight (every couple of rides).
loop-single-reply.phpwow sorry I took so long to reply. But its good news! Pull the back of the dakota and push the plug back on the pins. Put a piece of foam rubber in there to keep it from coming loose. Check the sending unit on he top of the tranny. Disconnect the wire, unscrew it, clean the crap off it and reinstall. If its still no go, let me know.
loop-single-reply.phpI’d take it to a mechanic. Best case they’ll pull the head apart and replace the gasket. But you need to have them pull the head and check the motor studs. If one (or more) have pulled they will need to put certs in the block. If one has pulled and they don’t cert the motor you’ll keep blowing gaskets.
