Gr8 fix for those of us that deal with the wicked Winter and our rides.
    Thanks

No, it was a breaker not sure if it was inside the ignition.Other than that bike runs sweet. Do you know the horsepower & torque for a 113ci S & S otor?

Not critical… Poor mans venting can be done by using thick washers behind the inspection cover plate. The heat is relative to your riding conditions. In CA the primary gets hot in the summer but my Primo III is still running strong.

Short term you could have a couple of aluminum plates made to cover the paint chips. Ideally you should move the t/s to the swing arm and just make the plates decorative covers. We stopped mounting t/s on fenders in ’05 because of this common problem.

I had same issue; The tail pipes had cooked the wires and contacts on top of the switch. Got some heat resistant wire and contacts went back couple of inches into the existing wire and came back to switch with new

The switch is mounted on the right side bottom frame rail. You’ll see the brake lines go in one side and out the other and an electrical connection on top. Its pretty rare for those switches to fail so I’d check the electical connection first.

The sissy bar is a fine addition. I have one on my 03′ Raider, and it works for passengers as well as supporting a good load in my T-Bags. I had on-going clutch issues out of the gate with under 2500 mi’s. Finally hooked-up with Rivera and went with the Pro Loc system…no prob’s since. I also added a six speed tranny, between these two upgrades, the Skull Sled provides me with great performance. Good luck and Happy Trails.

Many of the long fender bikes had turn signals mounted and then removed. If you have TS’s move them to the swing arm.

If the TS’s are already gone, get a plate welded behind the cracks as the “fix” may have made the sheet metal brittle.

If you have cracks following the line of the strut you can have arc shaped straps welded to connect the two struts this will help them to not twist and crack the fenders.

Russ Weirnamont no longer makes this fender and we can’t even buy the spinnings. So if you like the long rear fender it would be good to do some internal reinforcing.
