Dougie is spot on check/upgrade those breakers. The bad news is yours are on the splash guard and will require pulling the rear wheel to service. The ones in the ignition boxes are more prone to be effected by the heat off the motor but you may just have a bad breaker.
Also the symptom of cutting out can sometimes mean vapor lock from a blocked vent tube. Open the gas cap and see if it starts right back up. Your lucky replacing a Vindicator cap is cheap.
loop-single-reply.phpThanks! By the way I love the HST quote! –S.
“We cant stop here this is Bat Country!”
loop-single-reply.phpLOL….I’ve watched and read your gas cap thread dougie, and I hope you got your’s resolved, sounds like you did. As for me, it’s not critical, it’s just about having a stand-by, so I’ll be doing some looking and talk to the machine man about a possible build?
Stephen impresses me as a stand-up dude, and I hope to swill some scotch and smoke a fine cigar with him next June.loop-single-reply.phpThanks for the info Stephen. I’ll post anything that I might find that works. On the flip, are there any Hotmatch caps left if I go that route for a standby?
By the way, you were on the money about the 6 speed. The rpm-mph range is excellent, and virtually eliminates the dread vibration factor.loop-single-reply.phpLet me know if you get one and if it works. We built a handful of early 03 with the Hotmatch cap. When Metal Monsters (Trent) started making them the thread pitch was changed and the Hotmatch won’t work. I have 3 different “Trent” caps that I’ve had made for people.
loop-single-reply.phpHere is a far more informative site regarding the ‘Bike Bubble’ and it’s use and operation.
http://www.carcapsule.com/home.htmloop-single-reply.phpThere is moisture in concrete. A good cover will create a terrarium. Gun shops sell dehydrators for gun safes. Not a bad idea to have one sitting on the ground if you cover your bike for a long time.
loop-single-reply.phpThanks for the playlist Stephen, and those Oakies, ‘Cross Canadian Ragweed’ do know how to stir the stew.!
loop-single-reply.phpRead the forum you’ll learn a lot. There’s even few postings with links to Spykes (starter mfg) web site. Welcome!
loop-single-reply.phpWill be looking fwd to your playlist Stephen, and I’ll have to check out ‘Cross Canadian Ragweed’.
Have you had an ear on ‘The Answer’..solid Limeys.
Also, kudo’s on the new site..nice work.I’m still curious about the dude who was riding from AZ to AK. Any news?
Will do some more looking.loop-single-reply.phpI’ll go find it. I’ll do some digging to see if I can figure out how many we made. I’m working on moving over the database of bikes so WE can search it. ๐ White bikes are rare but they look great when they have the right graphics.
loop-single-reply.phpI’m working on that play list. Glad you like it. HAnk III rocks! How about Cross Canadian Ragweed?
loop-single-reply.phpBased on the cap base you sent me, my guess is the base diameter is a little too large. Maybe if you have it turned down a 1/4″ you’ll clear the step in the bung and get the cap down flush.
loop-single-reply.phpShipped cap #3 and the base Monday. (Fingers crossed.) –S.
