First of all everything is four years old. Plugs, Oil, filter, battery etc. So change it all. You might as well do it now because your going to do it.

The gas is a year old so… drain the tank, fill with new fuel. Clean the carb (make sure the fuel hasn’t varnished). You may want to squirt some oil in the plug holes the day before you fire it.

Check all the nuts and bolts. At 750 miles the motor isn’t even broken in. Chances are it never had it 500 mile service.

You’ve done this before so its sounds like your on top of it.

As far as paint goes. All one-off, no paint codes don’t even ask. ๐Ÿ™‚

95% of the parts can be sourced. A lot from Drag Specialties, others just read the forum or ask. The 5% we had fabricated. Ask me, I ‘ll see what I can do.

Word to the wise. Tighten your gas cap before every ride.

Open the back of the speedo and make sure the wiring harness connector is firmly pushed into the pins. Some guys have had to put a piece of foam rubber in there to keep the connector from vibrating loose.

Yes the 5+ mega pixel cameras take huge pictures. They are great for printing but are massive on screen. Try reducing the size before you upload.

E-mail me a photo of the old base and let take a look at it (if possible with the new one next to it.

I thought this was the one you got before but its hard to keep track. We’ll get to the bottom of it. (You and I ship more stuff back and forth you should move to CA.) ๐Ÿ™‚

How many rotations are you getting before it stops turning?

Will a flat gasket vs. the O ring make up the difference to set it flush?

If we need to I’ll have the machine shop turn down the base. I thought that was the same style cap you got before.

To upload pictures, at the bottom of the posting box there is a Select image file to attach. Click browse and select the image from your computer. The max image size is 1024 pixels so you may have to lower the resolution on your camera to medium if you images are too big.

Its either an Accutronix or Billet Specialties. I’d need to see a picture to tell you which it is.

The Sampson pipes that fit Vengeance Left Side Drive bikes are for the HD Softail 89-93 FXST.

Don’t forget to post your questions here. Its better for all of us. ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a spring that you can pull out that wraps around the headlight trim ring. Reach into the hole where the set screw was and you can hook it with a pick. Its like pulling a tape worm out. I forget who made these.

Any HD switch will work. We bought ours from Drag Specialties.

Those are covers for the compression releases. They are to help keep out water.

Join the forum ask your questions here. We all benefit! Welcome to the tribe.

Yes I was a fan too. But I couldn’t tie anything together. Now your account will let you post in the forum and the gallery and later there will be a few other goodies like being able to search the VIN database. So we need to push forward. I like your Avitar icon. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve posted the production numbers in the gallery Raiders 190. Design by Jim Overman.

FYI for you country fans… Jim recently built a bike for City of Hope. Based on a Jesse James frame and sheet metal. I shipped it to Nashville for and event. It ended up in Toby Keiths new video. Don’t laugh its true. ๐Ÿ™‚

You’ve got a tough decision to make. You can get another cap, make sure it has a rubber gasket and snug it down before you ride or you can cut out the bung, replace it with a stock bung and repaint the tank. Its no easy choice.

I’m trying to help by having the 4 styles of cap made for guys as they need them. Go to your local machine shop and have them make one they’ll cost you the same. I wish there were easier answers.
