Here is the one you need… (next to an original drilled out of a tank.)
Attachments:loop-single-reply.phpJock post some after pictures the host the others were on dropped them. If you can post ’em email them to me and I will work on it.
loop-single-reply.phpThere were only two “woodies” built. One was totaled in TX. Yours is a one of a kind!
loop-single-reply.phpThe mirror has a post on the back with flat sides. Use a 1/4 wrench to tighten the post. You may also want to use a drop of red loctite to keep it from coming loose.
loop-single-reply.phpAre you wanting a chain on the primary or the secondary or both?
loop-single-reply.phpThere were 190 built. They used Spyke starters and the 5-speeds are by Sharp-Eye. The 6-speed will make a huge difference at highway speeds.
loop-single-reply.phpThat was stock on 05,06 Vendettas. I can put together a conversion kit for you but its pricey, you need the fender, struts and the seat, if you want turn signals youll need the mounting blocks.
By the way Charlies bike is exceptional, check out the headlight!
loop-single-reply.phpYes, you’ll either love it or hate it. Its like a super model girlfriend. Welcome.
loop-single-reply.phpLove the rear fender. Just bought a vendetta myself cant wait to get it home. where did you get the fender
loop-single-reply.phpGive Spyke a call they’ll get one out to you and you can ride this weekend. Don’t forget to put a battery tender on the Battery. Its hard to say how much load it took. You were running 100% on the battery when the regulator went AWOL.
loop-single-reply.phpWow dewey, you are on some kind of adventure.! Glad you found the problem, and hope you have a trouble free run the rest of the way. And welcome to the learning curve. 😉
loop-single-reply.phpBeside the pullback/drag bars, youll need new brake cable, clutch cables and throttle cables. (if you dont want the cables flopping all over.)
The big expense is having the wiring all disconnected/reconnected. Most of which happens inside the headlight. There are no quick disconnects. its cut, solder, shrink tube, squeeze it all back in.
loop-single-reply.phpAh the knuckle buster mirror. Ill assume we are talking about the pro-one teardrop style…
Look at the shaft that has the ball at the end. Do you see the flat sides? Take a 1/4 wrench and unscrew the shaft/ball/mirror from the mounting arm. Re-apply a drop or two of red-loctite and screw it back in until its tight. Dont overturn you are screwing a steel shaft into and aluminum mirror arm and you can strip the threads. Let it sit for a while before yo ride to give the loctite time to set up.
Your mirror will stay put for another year. Ever wonder why its only the left? Gravity tightens the right one. Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.
