The regulator is mounted on the down tubes and has a connection into the front of the motor. Check those wires they may be loose.

The next item to have a shop check is the charging system. Its inside your inner primary. (Note: The battery is only being charged above 1500 RPM so test it by puttng a multi meter on the battery and rev the engine it should be charging above 12V.)

Heres a link that show you a picture of the regulator and charging system.

If youre lucky, maybe you can find a wrench/shop open today. Let them run a continuity check on your system, they should be able to find the problem. Could be the stator, regulator, starter, fuse block, etc.  Same thing happened to me on my Softail, had to replace everything, and it ran me about 8 bones. Been three plus years now, and never another problem. Good luck, and congrats on a hell of an iron butt run.   😎
p.s. Ive got an 03 Raider and love it now that the early issues have been laid to rest.

The original was silver external plate, with red and silver plates in the stack. I forgot to mention that the main bearing was toast also. After the first clutch fix, the starter spline was sheared off and fed into the primary…spline and shaft replaced. On the third or fourth fix, another plate was added to the mix, on the exterior….got about 5-600 miles on it before the slipping became noticeable, that’s when I decided to go with the Pro Loc system from Rivera…..so far, it’s all good.

Just out of curiosity what color pressure plate did your clutch have, black or silver?

took a warrior and a vindicator to Rich’s in Kingston, near Seattle; this is the vindicator seat in the photo.  stingray with red bullfrog in the eyeholes, gel padding, this is a lot bigger than the original but way more comfortable than the corbin I have on my Road King.  They are individually fitted and the process takes a day but worth it.

I think Stephen has the right idea! Any horn small enough to fit the stock location isn’t going to make much noise. My original concern was to get through inspection and my state does a lot of road side compliance inspection, but I said screw it. I saw a picture of a Raider with a Mini-Beast mounted on the downtubes. They’re very loud, but it looked like crap mounted there!

I recieved the end cap from Accutronix today. Five minutes to unwrap and install. A real boot saver for those riding without caps. Makes the bike look great too. Thanks for the onfo on who to get them from Stephen. I get a lot of wows from other on my 2004 vindicator.

I consider my Warrior a “custom” bike anyway. as truly, it is the only one in existence with the paint scheme it has, it is one of a kind! 😉
