After testing everything twice the only thing they can think of is there is a broken or cracked wire somewhere inside its casing.
Whoever wired this bike used all the same color wiring and it is all balled up in electrical tape in two places which makes it practically impossible to trace up and down the frame.
They are asking if there is a way to just purchase a whole new rear main harness for this bike? It would save them a lot of time and me money.Thanks.
loop-single-reply.phpAny update on his elec. problem? Having a similar issue with my 04 Vindicator: the guy who sold it to me had it washed! by some knucklehead who didnt know jack about bikes. Soaked the thing. Any updates on this problem would be helpful. Cheers.
loop-single-reply.phpStephen, I’m a new owner of an 04 Vindicator, 4500 miles. Has a Jack Daniels themed paint, very distinctive bike. Am looking for a ‘heads up’ for some of the recurring issues with this bike, things I should keep an eye on as I own and ride it for the next few years. One thing I have noticed on the board is that certain models have had wiring issues and others have had other con 8-)sistent issues. Would appreciate the info so I can anticipate what to look for or prevent with a little TLC. Thanks, 4tn81
loop-single-reply.phpThe pipes look good. The dual sissybar blocks also turned out great!
loop-single-reply.phpOkay, 12 volts at the breaker box & relay. 9 volts up at the starter button. Losing 3 volts somewhere in between.
What size starter is on my 2004 Warrior? 1.4 1.6 1.8?
Going to put a push button on my starter but need to know what size it is.Thanks
loop-single-reply.phpSlap em on. 🙂 You may want to have the carb rejetted afterwords but usually its basically the same.
loop-single-reply.phpNo we went to a larger box and changed the breakers to fit in the box.
loop-single-reply.phpSorry, Here’s the wiring diagram…

http://www.venmc.com/vmanual/vElectricalDiagram2.pdfloop-single-reply.phpYou may want to hook up a test light to the post on the relay that the solenoid trigger wire hooks to. See if you have power there when you hit the switch. If not, replace the relay. If you do have power then its probably a bad solenoid. Also check the ground cable thats hooked to the starter bolt on the trans ear. Make sure its torqued to 20 ft lbs. Check your ground wire from the battery to the frame. Disconnect it and make sure there is no rust on the eyelet or the frame. A bad ground at either of these locations will drop down your voltage enough to cause starter issues even if your battery is fully charged.
