Hey dougie, you might want to go the route I choose. For around $300, you can have a sweet looking rear mounted kick stand. The look is great, and there’s nothing that will scrape when you lean into a lefty. Good luck.

Sounds like the dissatisfied voice of experience on the Big Boars. Thanks for the heads up on them. The Interstates the way to go huh ??
Im supprised. In my not so long ago muscle car days,I went thru 3 or 4 Interstate batteries in my 63 Grand Prix and 67 GTO that continually leaked and wouldnt hold a charge for crap.
Finally went to Sears Die Hard,no leaks,no dead batteries.Havent been able to determin if they make a softail battery with enough cca,but will put one in the Ultra Classic when needed.
Guess the search for the best battery is to be continued.   :-/

OK Stephen…..here’s the legal lowdown according to my ‘Dine and Dash’ card. Simply avoid the Palms for 7 to 10 years, and all will be forgotten and forgiven. Thanks again….the Patron had us all walkin’ and talkin’ as though we actually knew what we were doing.?!

Thanks for the input rkennedy. Since the post, I got Jeff, the main wrench from the shop, to make a house call. Like you and Stephen and others, he cautioned about belt breakin torque. Jeff says hes seen this before, and just by adding an additional plate, was able to get the Skull Sled operating in an enjoyable fashion. Now, the only slippage I experience is if I get crazy and wick it a little harder than necessary. Will probably add the new spring and clutch pkg this Winter.
P.S. For those with gas cap problems on the Hotch or other version, just keep the rubber threads lubed with Vaseline…no probs since. May need to apply the love lube once a week or so…but the cap will stay.

Wider left turns ,,, No really I have a 03 Vindcator and have the same set up on mine. To install the belt drive the spacer that is needed causes this problem. I know it is a pain but it is something you will have to live with.

Big Boar batteries are not worth the money, get yourself a interstate sealed battery and keep it on trickle and everything will be fine

Firefighter, Im outside St Louis and during last weeks mid 30s morning temps mine would start hard and have to warm up for a couple minutes. I used full choke/enrichener to get it to fire, normally I only lift it to about 1/4. Battery is still fine but I plan on getting a battery tender for the winter.

some do some don’t. If its there it would come out of the bottom of the tank at the front.

Are you keeping it plugged into a trickle charger? Batterys hate the cold, especially when trying to start big high compression motors.
