Jake… there are two possible locations for the fuses. The ’03 and Early ’04 bikes have a small chrome key-switch box (round on top and bottom) these bikes have the fuses mounted on the rear fender behind the splash guard. When we started building the Widow the fuses were moved into a larger square polished stainless key-switch box.
Less than 20 but I don’t have exact counts on paint colors and schemes. Originally we did three schemes the “Killers Elbow”, the “Lost Soul” and the “Deadman’s Hand” and in ’05 we built a few in colors.
loop-single-reply.phpAh I love it. I’ve been there, but never on my bike. thanks for sharing!
loop-single-reply.phpI’ve got no parts… Sampson Desperado pipes for 1984–1999 Softails with Evolution engines were used on the Vindicator.
loop-single-reply.phpAll of the hand controls are wired into the headlight housing and then head back. Typically the problems are at the hand controls. Next most likely culprit is a connection in the headlight bucket. Then into the key switch housing. Its always a PITA finding gremlins.
loop-single-reply.phpYou’ll want pipes for 1984–1999 Softails with Evolution engines.
loop-single-reply.phpI doubt it… I’d order from QTMI Brembo by the OD. Brembo should still be able to supply the outer rotor, if you call and ask for vengeance parts they will say “We dont have any”. They have no centers as they were all custom cut for us, But the outer, caliper, and pads are all “non-vengeance” parts. You can reach them at http://www.qtmi.com. Thanks! –S
loop-single-reply.phpThanks for sharing… the background on the wiring diagram is classic chopper tale. In our first model year 2003 we started buying our harnesses from “Pops”. He was a southern California motorcycle mechanic/builder who made wiring harnesses for project bikes. He was well known in the local trade as the go-to guy if you needed to wire a bike. Pops had an industrial space in Colton, CA that served as his workshop and his home. These were simple functional harnesses that were handmade and delivered to us by Pops once a week.
It didn’t take long for us to get our first call from a dealer who was having an electrical short and he requested a wiring diagram. Pops refused to supply one. It’s not that he was unable to produce it… he was just unwilling. To a lot of bike builders and backyard mechanics, electronics were alchemy. Knowing how these worked made Pops special and kept him in-demand from local bike builders.
Also I firmly believe Pops was afraid that if we had a wiring diagram we would send it off to China and have someone else make them. So we did what any good customer would do. We took a harness apart and reverse engineered it. The wiring diagram posted here is the result of that project. For those of you with 03/04 bike that have the flash module bolted to the splash guard (sorry for that), this diagram should be correct. In mid 05 we started using the larger key box and moved the breakers and flash module components into the key box. This likely changed the wiring diagram ever-so-slightly but resulted in WulfBands observation that this drawing is “mostly” correct.
We bought every harness we ever used from Pops and he never gave us a wiring diagram. Pops passed in 2010 and his undocumented wiring diagrams have passed with him into the ether. There’s a reason that they are called Choppers.
loop-single-reply.phpThat trike rear was manufactured by Mystery Design. http://www.mysterydesigns.com/suspensions.php
We built 3 of trikes, one was for Rick Allen of Def Leppard and was fitted with an automatic clutch. Then Chad Kroger of Nickleback bought one after riding Rick’s trike in Sturgis. Presumably, Chad had a clause in his tour insurance that forbid him from doing certain “dangerous” things while on tour like riding motorcycles. The trike was a workaround to that rule. Then after his trike arrived Chad bet his friend and producer Joey Moi that their current single Far Away would not make it to number 1. Joey was right, and Chad didn’t want to give up his trike so he was obligated to order a 2nd trike for Joey. Last I heard was Chad has them both at his house in Cabo San Lucas.
loop-single-reply.phpThe Big Guns were the “stock” pipe on the Vindicator and will fit on any LSD Vengeance, they are great sounding pipes! –S.
loop-single-reply.phpNice ride, the seat is a cool custom touch. The motor would be an S&S 113ci with a 600 cam it makes about 110hp in factory form. Winks was not involved in Vengeance, but it’s not impossible that he worked on the motor in the aftermarket. It may be worth reaching out to them directly to see if they hot rodded the motor further.

loop-single-reply.phpHawkeye is correct there are no RSD Banshee’s. Theres often some confusion about which is the right and left side. Sitting on the bike if your final drive belt is on the left it’s LSD. But with that out of the way, lets talk about pipes.
A longer pipe with a little back pressure makes better power and burns fuel more efficiently. My Banshee has the shortest pipe made by Sampson, they crackle every time I let off the throttle and my buddies refuse to ride on my right because I “napalm” them with un-burnt fuel. My recommendation is to use a longer pipe.
The best pipe I had on my Vendetta was a Bassaini pipe. It makes power and can be use with or without a baffle.

I currently have Sampson ripsaws on my Vendetta. They are mid-length and un-baffled and I had a set in storage when my Bassinis broke. Longer Pipes weight more and the extra length puts pressure at the rear mounting point.

This is what we used on the Black Widow, Cheap and PA DOT approved. 🙂
