Thanks for all the help with this, after talking with Pro-One, they assured me that the dust cap was threaded on, I used a paint removal heat gun to soften the joint, then a pipe wrench, it did come apart at this time, however the chrome on the dust cap was damaged, so I ended up buying a new cap and bushings from Pro-One, they were very helpful, even told me what fork oil and how much to use.
And yes, someone had put locktite on the threadsloop-single-reply.phpThanks, I followed your instructions and it all worked out like you said, except for the unscrewing the dust cap part, it will not come loose from the lower leg,
unless these are lefthanded threads? I tried every tool at my disposal, channel locks, strap wrench, modified oilfilter wrench, they appear to be glued on there?
I guess i could just try to refill the oil from the top of the leg,loop-single-reply.phpThank you very much, I will do my best to restore it to original condition, i will submit a picture when I have reconstructed the bike
