Sorry, the only wiring diagram I have is just like the one posted here on this site. I had to rewire my bike and it took forever. Ask away and I’ll try to help.

It sounds like you have a short somewhere. If memory serves me correctly the speedo is only 2 wires and should not be too difficult to trace down.

I had to redo all the wiring on my 03 Raider. I haven’t had a chance to make a schematic of it yet. Trust me it was a nightmare but after working on it for 5 months I found that alot of the wiring is not as listed so I had to research alot of it. I don’t know if I could make a diagram of it as it was so complicated but I totally understand it now. Some of the wiring for the turn signals were reversed and many of the wires weren’t even needed. I’ll try to make a new schematic but I can’t promise anything because it will take awhile and I’m deep into other projects currently. I’ll try to keep you updated.

There is a product called “Red-Kote” specifically made to coat the inside of gas tanks that have leaking problems.
I have an old 1988 Yamaha Trail Way motorcycle that sat for years and rusted the inside of the tank.
This will cover rust but I don’t recommend it.
After some research I discovered that if you put a good handful of misc nuts and bolt in the tank and swish it around long enough it will remove any rust you have.
BUT go to WalMart and get you a big can of air rifle BB’s 🙂 Works much better 🙂
Preferably if you have a friend with access to a paint shaker(if your nuts enough like me :)) then that will do the job fast 🙂
I’m attaching an image of the product here. It can be purchased at most auto stores.
    Good Luck

    Update on Wiring Diagram:

Sorry all I haven’t had a chance to get to my motorcycle or work on the wiring. I had a kitchen house fire and have been restoring most of my home on my own so it has kept me really busy and my Raider is collecting dust 🙁

I’m sure you probably know this already but I wouldn’t just replace the plates. You can buy entire kits with new springs and everything for a few dollars more.
I would check ebay once you’ve decided which brand you want 🙂
