The Runaway American Dream is based on the roller coaster ride of the amazing startup and eventual implosion of Vengeance Motorcycles during the Chopper Boom at the turn of the 21st century.

During the Bike Boom of the 1890’s people were buying bicycles “whether they could afford them or not”. This attracted hundreds of manufacturers into the bicycle business. This increase in production resulted in a downward spiral of market saturation, over-supply, and intense price competition. Many bicycle manufacturers, faced with excess inventory and prices too low to make a profit, went out of business.
