As the Holiday’s approach, it is a time for all of us to share our blessings with others that are less fortunate. Year after year the motorcycling community shows its stripes by participating in countless charity rides and toy drives and this year is no different. Take the opportunity this holiday season to reach out to another who may be less fortunate. Small acts of kindness make this a better world for all of us to live in. We encourage grass roots giving but if you don’t have a local charity, two of our favorite national charities are Make a Wish Foundation and Toys for Tots. Also here are a few charities that are favorites of some of our friends.
Make a Wish Foundation
Make this holiday season special by helping a child’s dream come true. Make a Wish’s unique holiday donation options will help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Toys for Tots
Donate a new toy or give a donation to help make Christmas a little brighter for a needy child in your community.
Adopt-A-Minefield & ICA Organization – Nickelback
Adopt-A-Minefield helps save lives by raising funds for mine clearance and survivor assistance and by raising awareness about the landmine problem around the world. International Children’s Awareness (ICA) Canada is committed to providing access to education, clean water, and health care working with indigenous groups and support projects that will assist in allowing them to become self-sufficient.
Give Katrina Christmas – Phil & Julie Vassar
Julie and I have joined forces with a wonderful program called Camp Coast Care. Camp Coast Care is a Christian community of faith that provides a recovery and reconstruction mission for those in need on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They still desperately need our help. In the true spirit of Christmas, we know they would appreciate any assistance you can give. Thank you and Merry Christmas. —Phil
Raven Drum Foundation – Rick Allen of Def Leppard
The Raven Drum Foundation’s goal is to provide free educational programs in the healing and expressive arts to inspire personal growth during times of adversity.
St Jude Childrens Research Hospital – Keith Urban
This children’s hospital located in Memphis, TN is where doctors across the world send their toughest cases and most vulnerable patients. Where no one pays for treatment beyond what is covered by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay.
