One badass design, love it. I bought mine from a good friend who bought it off the floor in Fayetteville, NC. Was with him in the shop the day he showed her to me and told me how hot he was for Teacher. I slobbered over it for years; cried, pouted, hung myself three times….finally, she’s mine. Except for the piece-of-crap speedometer module (which never worked right, even for him; I replaced with a simple Drag Spec, no-frills analog) and the horrendous chrome chip/peel issue on the forks (seriously, what’s up with that?) I’m in love with her now more than ever. Her profile…exquisite. Tell me, like all my wimmins, I want to know all I can about her. How many Teachers were built per year, how many total? Thanks man

Thanks, I’m glad you were able to finally get her in your garage. We built 31 in ’05 and ’06. The prototype Teacher “Rolling Bones” was built as a show bike using an ’04 Vendetta frame, Widow fenders, sporty tank and springer in flat black. Everybody loved the final look so we started building them as a production model.

Eventually moved away from the Dakota Digital in favor of analog speedos. The Drag speedo is a great choice. Personally, I preferred the simplicity of the analog. Sorry about the chrome on the springer. It’s hard to say but it’s likely you got a set that was not properly prepared before chrome. Occasionally we even saw this with wheels that peeled in sheets. Good chrome (like paint) is all about prep and it sounds like your bike got a pair that was not right. Did you replace the forks altogether or did you have them re-chromed?

Nah, I’m still peeling off chrome as it takes a notion to flake. This winter I plan to finish the chromectomy as unprofessionally as possible and brush the forks flat black. Screw it, she’s still beautiful. Took this pic Saturday on a beer run between squalls from Hurricane Florence. After studying the pic I’ve decided maybe to slosh some soap on her next weekend, maybe even scrub a bit. Ride on, Stephen.

Love it! Paint would work but I say take them apart and have them powder coated flat black.

Financial contributions gratefully accepted. Hey, here’s an idea, warranty coverage for that crappy chrome job your vendor slipped by us!

I just need to find the guy who sold me those springers. Enjoy the ride!
