Vengeance Motorcycles announced today the introduction of a new chopper model dubbed the “Black Widow”. This motorcycle is an extension of their already popular line of bikes which have become known in the industry to be the “best of the best” in terms of the components on the bikes and fit and finish of the final product.
The Black Widow is designed for the rider that wants all of the advantages of owning a Vengeance motorcycle but is unable to fit the other Vengeance choppers into their budget. With an MSRP of $24,995.00 the Black Widow is the most value conscience bike in the Vengeance line. While the price is lower, the Black Widow includes many of the same quality components as the rest of the Vengeance line.
“We listened to our dealers and what we heard is customers wanted Vengeance quality but didn’t need all of the flash that is standard on our other bikes.” Stephen C. Sharpe Director of Sales & Marketing of Vengeance was quoted. “What we wanted to do is to maximize the performance and reliability using the ‘Best of the Best’ that we have become known for but to address some of the cosmetic issues which can make our other bikes more expensive. What we have come up with is a perfect blend between old-school looks and a modern drive train.”
So what do you get for $26K, the list of components is impressive:
• Soft-style frame with a Stock Backbone length
• 40o Rake with a 6″ Down-tube Stretch and 10″ Over Front End
• 21″ Front Tire with 250 Series Low Profile Rear Tire
• S&S 113Ci Engine with a 6-Speed Transmission
• Front & Rear Brembo Brakes with full Floating Rotors
• Polished Billet Forward Controls
• 60-Spoke Chrome Wire Wheels
• Chrome Inner and Outer Primary Covers, Grips, Mirrors, Controls
The styling of the Black Widow evokes the old-school chopper updated with modern performance products. The paint is “Any color you want, as long as its Black” and the graphics included are limited to three retro-cool designs on the side of the tank. The graphic designs include:
• A spider web “Killers Elbow”
• A skull with bone flames “Lost Soul”
• An Aces and Eights card design “Dead Mans Hand”
The stance of the Black Widow is a classic chopper with a 40 degree rake and a 10″ over front end. The Widow carries an old school peanut tank with 4.75 gallons capacity. But where the Black Widow takes a departure from the norm is in its rear fender. At first glance when you look at the Black Widow you think “hard-tail” the reason why is the short drag style rear fender that sits less than an inch off the tire. But when you look further and see this bike has a full rear suspension. The visual trick is accomplished by mounting the rear fender to the swing arm and making a seat with a fiberglass pan so the fender can move without affecting the rider. The result is the best of both worlds — radical hard-tail looks with a soft-style ride.
“Overall we feel the Black Widow is an amazing value featuring top shelf components and the quality of fit an finish that people have come to expect from Vengeance.” said Vengeance Director of Marketing Stephen C. Sharpe.
